Senior Java Architect,
Developer
Our client is looking for a Senior Java Architect, Developer
to work on large-scale, distributed computing projects. Using
Hadoop, Map/Reduce and related technologies, these projects
include web-crawling, link analysis, textual classification,
collaborative filtering and content ranking. This is an ideal
position for an experienced developer interested in working
with bleeding-edge technologies, solving challenging problems
and building software that is central to the success of the
business.
Primary Responsibilities
 |
Architect and
implement software solutions |
|
Optimize code
for reliability, performance and scalability
|
|
Write
automated tests, refactor code and otherwise continually
improve code quality |
|
Review current
relevant research and academic papers |
|
Conduct code
reviews and provide mentoring |
|
Evaluate
3rd-party software frameworks and libraries
|
Requirements:
|
Minimum 5
years professional software development experience
|
|
Significant
Java development experience |
|
Unix/Linux
environment experience |
|
Distributed
computing experience preferred |
|
Prior
experience with Amazon’s EC2 a plus |
|
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills |
|
Thrives in a
start up environment that fosters/values initiative and
self-sufficiency |
|
Positive
attitude, self-motivated, high integrity team player
|
|
College Degree
required |
Technologies utilized, experience preferred.
|
